Objectives:
1. To understand what an entrepreneur is and how it applies to
agriculture.
2. To understand the importance of planning in an agribusiness
setting.
3. To understand the identification and assessment of costs.
Resource materials:
Readings will be provided along with class lecture notes.
Grading:
Your grade will totally be determined by homework projects.
Assignment due dates will be listed on each assignment. Assignments
turned in after that date will have 10% deducted per day late
unless prior arrangements have been made. Generally, the
off-campus sections will be one-week behind the campus section. My
number one goal is to help you learn the material while being fair
in the grading process.
Class projects:
You will need to choose an industry/commodity that you are
interested in and would like to become involved with. Some of your
assignments will require you to research the industry/commodity you
choose.

assignment of grades and corrections of grades are the sole
prerogative of the instructor and are reported by the instructor
directly to the Registrar’s Office via the UI Faculty Web. All
grades except I and IP are considered final when assigned by an
instructor at the end of a term. An instructor may request a grade
correction when a computational or procedural error occurred in the
original assignment of a grade. No final grade may be revised as a
result of re-examination or the submission of additional work after
the close of the semester
